For the past 5 years, Subaru of America has donated $25 million to a range of national charities. Due to this success, differentiation, and social good will of the "Share the Love" event, (which donates $250 from every new Subaru purchase or lease to one of 5 charities) we are excited to announce two changes to this year's event:
Stanley Subaru owner Mark Politte and a representative from the Mary Dow Cancer Center.
1. Subaru will double the possible donation amount this year, increasing it to $10 million, up from $5 million per year in the past years. For this year's event, Subaru will partner with 5 national charities with local coverage: ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America, National Park Foundation, and Teach for America.
2. In addition to the 5 national charities, Subaru has requested each retailer to select a unique local sixth charity of their choice that works within their community. This is a great opportunity for us to support a local cause and has the potential of raising over $12,000 that stays LOCAL! ( Last year's event raised over $13,000, just from our dealership alone!)
Our local nonprofit organization is the Mary Dow Cancer Center at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.
This year's event runs from November 21, 2013 and ends January 2nd, 2014. Whenever a guest purchases or leases a New Subaru, we will donate $250 in their name to their selected charity. They can choose from the 5 national charities listed above, or, for the first time ever, choose our local unique charity to receive the donation--The Mary Dow Center at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital!
