Stanley Subaru was opened in October of 1999, the dream of Dick and Karen Stanley, who had decided they weren't ready for their first attempt at retirement. They built Stanley Subaru on the simple principle of treating people the way they wanted to be treated. They believed whole-heartedly in the goodness of people

Five years later, having proven their business philosophy worked, they sold the business to their daughter and son-in-law, Mark and Samantha Politte. Mark brought eleven years of experience working with Ford Motor Company and all their dealers across the country and coupled it with the Stanleys' business philosophy. The result was a genuine concern for the community, the employees, and the guests married to a contemporary, open, and inviting approach that embraced modern technologies and innovations.

We remain proudly dedicated to preserving and improving on the promises of remaining an easy, friendly, honest, and open place to do business.

Test Drives for the Cure	The Grand	SPCA of Hancock County	Other partnerships
Each year Stanley Subaru donates $10 to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for every test drive taken in October. Inspired by our guests, we have given over $15,000 directly to cancer patient care through Test Drives for the Cure since we started it in 2009.	Stanley Subaru is a proud, long-standing supporter of The Grand. We are committed to championing cultural and educational programs, and we are glad our commitment helps The Grand continue to bring arts of all kinds to our community.	Honestly, this was an easy one. We are all pet-people at Stanley Subaru, and we have been natural partners with SPCA of Hancock County for years. As our local, no-kill shelter dedicated to finding every animal a happy and loving home, we couldn't be happier to do what we can to help them succeed.	We have dozens of ongoing projects with local groups, and we believe in all of them. We love our neighbors and our guests, and we are grateful to get to lend our support. Stanley Subaru is a proud part of our community, and we are invested in its success. As part of Stanley Subaru, our team members are expected to be invested in that success, too. Promoting our involvement and volunteering for our community partners' events is also an excellent way to meet new people.  And sometimes you get to pet dogs.
