Stanley Subaru installed solar panels in late 2021 to meet 100% of our electricity needs with the light of the sun. It's another bright idea from The Smart Choice.

"Our commitment to our community doesn't stop at volunteering or donating," said owner Mark Politte. "We love doing that, and it's important to have that kind of direct impact. But we also want our community to be able to keep getting better into the future. Powering our buildings and computers and compressors and tools--all the electricity it takes to serve our guests--relieves some pressure on our local environment in a permanent and meaningful way which allows our community to continue to grow and improve."

Solar panels were installed on the rooftops of the dealership buildings, located on the Bar Harbor Road in Trenton, to provide renewable clean electricity for the dealership. "Stanley Subaru is proud to be a sustainability leader. To my knowledge, we are the first automotive dealership in the state of Maine to convert to be 100% driven by the sun," said Mark Politte.

Stanley Subaru continues to support community organization focused on preserving and protecting the environment. "Recently we sponsored, with a financial donation, the creation and publication of Blue Hill Heritage Trust's local hiking guidebook. It is a comprehensive collection of all the trails in the greater Blue Hill/Deer Isle area with maps, directions and trail descriptions." Another eco-friendly feature of the dealership is guests save $5 on their service appointment when they schedule it online versus by phone.
