As the result of our successful Share the Love campaign, Stanley Subaru presented fifteen thousand dollars to The Grand Theatre in Ellsworth as part of our ongoing support of the Campaign for the Grand.
The Campaign for the Grand is a fundraising effort to restore, repair, and improve the Grand's facilities to enable a renewed focus on quality local theatre. "We plan to use funds raised through Subaru's Share the Love to support live performances on the Stanley Subaru stage. We need more microphones, lighting equipment, and such for supporting community theater," said Executive Director of the Grand Gail La Rosa Thompson.
The Share the Love campaign ran from the end of November through the beginning of January wherein money was donated to guest-selected charities for every new car purchase. A longstanding supporter of the Grand, in September 2014 Stanley Subaru announced a partnership with the theatre, taking the lead in the theatre's restoration efforts, and in November announced the Grand as their hometown charity for the Share the Love campaign. Stanley Subaru's guests were able to raise fifteen thousand dollars for the Grand.
Additionally, we have been collecting donations for the 4th Annual Hancock County Food Drive all this month (check out the album here!). The Hancock County Food Drive is a month-long event that helps fill the shelves of 10 food pantries and 6 meal sites in Hancock County. As a thank you to our guests for donating, we're running a Price is Right-style giveaway: guests who donate to the food drive can guess how many items it will take to fill a 2015 Crosstrek with food. The person who gets closest without going over wins a free vehicle cleaning! There's no better way to get ready for spring than clearing the gunk that built up in winter with a wash, vacuum, and chamois.
Our
partnership with the Grand continues with the food drive! On March
27th, we will be collecting at the Grand at the presentation of The
Fabulous Chinese Acrobats. As a thank you for donating at the Grand,
event-goers will get discounted concessions!
