Car and Driver Reviews the Subaru Crosstrek--

Car and Driver believes the Crosstrek is a new entree on a familiar menu.

"Think of Subaru as dishing up the comfort food of the car biz, sort of Mom's meatloaf with All Wheel Drive," says Fred M.H. Gregory of Car and Driver. He is referring to how Subarus have earned reputations for being dependable, solid, and kind of different.  Mr. Gregory discusses his experience with the 2013 Subaru Crosstrek 2.0i Premium.

Mr. Gregory's review highlights the Crosstrek's high marks for plenty of ground clearance, comfort, and roomy interior. He points out that it has a slow pick up in the 0-60mph, although he adds that it is acceptable for a 2.0 liter engine with 148 horsepower. He did say the Crosstrek bested the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 in terms of spritely-ness and that the Crosstrek had better 'stick' with it's lateral skidpad grip and is capable enough to handle aggressive driving.

Surprised by the amount of head and elbowroom and comfortable upright seating, Mr. Gregory commented "the ambience is one of airy roominess" in the Crosstrek.

His review for Car and Driver concludes with vehicle specs and mentions that the MSRP "isn't bad for what is ultimately a useful and practical car, particularly in places where weather can become a hazard," another reference to mom's meatloaf, and then compliments Subaru on the way they "find multitudinous ways for buyers to drive over the river and through the woods."

It sounds like the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek will be as useful, dependable, and capable of handling whatever Mother Nature can dish out, especially if she is serving meatloaf.
