Why You Should Consider a Crosstrek:

Do you crave excitement and adventure? Would you be your own boss if you had the chance? Well, the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek provides the excitement and adventure, and once you drive one, you may very well choose a new career path...

Introducing the Subaru Crosstrek, the most fuel efficient compact crossover in America. This vehicle enables you to enjoy your favorite activities, whether they are off-road or in the city.  Bigger is not always better. It is about being efficient, smart, and practical for wherever the day takes you.  Why not embrace life at full speed and make the most out of every experience?

The Subaru XV Crosstrek made its debut here at Stanley Subaru yesterday and it greatly exceeded our expectations. Sure, you've seen the pictures of the orange hatchback floating around the internetosphere, and perhaps you have read MotorTrend's review of the Crosstrek, but until you see it for yourself, you haven't seen it at all.

The Subaru XV Crosstrek, or more simply just the "Crosstrek" is going to be a full production vehicle for Subaru. Unlike its limited-production cousin, the BRZ, there will be no shortage of Crosstreks around here, once they arrive in October.  Not a fan of "Tangerine Orange Pearl"? Don't fret, there are 8 exterior colors, with dark and light interior options. Learn about the Crosstrek colors and features with this handy guide. The newly designed 17" aluminum-alloy wheels have a rugged appearance and are unique to the Crosstrek.

Upon first glance, the Crosstrek looks much like an Impreza, and it should since it shares the same chassis. Look a little closer and you notice it has an ample ground clearance...8.7 inches, equal to that of an Outback. Get up next to it, and you notice it has a low roofline, great for loading kayaks or other gear on top. This adaptability is something not available in the Impreza, or other similar vehicles.  Got stuff you want to tow? The Crosstrek comes tow-ready, with the hitch available as an accessory. Towing capacity for the Crosstrek is rated up to 1500 pounds on a 200-pound tongue. This is yet another feature unavailable in comparable vehicles.

When you slip inside, you'll notice the cradling front seats provide comfort and good back support. A new addition to all 2013 Subaru models is an increase in interior insulation, providing a quieter cabin. The driver's seat sits high, much like a Forester, and the visibility is vast. Being a person of short stature, I was comfortable and confident with the visibility in all directions. There are even triangular shaped windows along the front, near the side mirrors, that are reminiscent of automobiles of yore. Fortunately these windows do not crank out, so you'll maintain optimal fuel economy (up to 33mpg highway!) The low roof may prove too close for comfort for someone over 6'4", much like the Baja, but the adjustable seats should make enough room for just about anyone to drive.

If you open the rear doors, you'll notice they open a full 90 degrees. This makes loading car seats, kids, pets, groceries, or anything else easier. The center rear seat back also folds down and becomes an arm rest with cupholders. The 60/40 split rear seats fold completely flat for easy, flexible storage.
