September update: we were right!
The Solterra is confirmed to have Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and "plenty of ground clearance" which we can assume means the 8.7" to get you where you need to go in all kinds of weather.

What we definitely know |
- All-electric
not hybrid, not fuel-cell; electric, baby!
- Built on the Subaru global platform
being made on Subaru's global platform means that you can be sure of the reliability and safety of the chassis. This is going to be a Subaru through and through.
- Comes to us in 2022
it's exciting, and it's hard to wait, but it's coming soon
|
What's probably true |
- Crosstrek-sized
roughly; it might somewhere between a Crosstrek and a Forester
- Symmetrical all-wheel drive (UPDATE: CORRECT!)
it's just good stuff, and it would make sense that Subaru would retain the technology they've perfected over decades to make the safest cars on the road.
- 8.7" ground clearance (UPDATE: CORRECT!)
the ground clearance for most Subarus, and a pretty reasonable expectation
- EyeSight
EyeSight is standard on basically all Subarus right now, so it will almost certainly be standard on the Solterra
- Exceptional safety
with Symmetrical all-wheel drive and EyeSight, Subaru is a market leader in safety. With both of those on board, we can expect the Solterra to be a part of the safest line of vehicles yet again
- StarLink
remote start from your phone, my pals!
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
standard in Subaru now, so it's a real safe bet
- Seat 5
comfortably
|
Wild speculation |
- Cargo space around 60 cubic feet
between the Crosstrek and the Forester
- 200 horsepower
got some giddyup
- 280 foot-pounds of torque
stronk
- 12 cupholders
I mean, could be, right?
- Hydrates
when you drive it, you will get all your daily water intake
- Clears skin
all that water has gotta help
- Visibly reduces pores
sure
- Dunk from the free throw line
definitely; hit it just right, and this car will one hundred percent dunk a basketball using its tires like hands
