Roy was looking for something like a Mustang when he came in and talked to Tony yesterday. He was after something sporty with good handling, and he knew a Mustang would fit the bill, but Roy also knew his wife Nan wanted all wheel drive.
Tony had him try a 2009 Outback XT Limited. Roy was hooked. With the turbocharged engine and the 105 inch wheelbase, he had a blast getting the sporty feel he was looking for. A 2008 IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus with 8.7 inches of ground clearance and the standard full-time all wheel drive, Roy knew it would handle all Nan's safety concerns.
He went ahead and bought it.
Roy, feeling a little impish, asked Tony not to tell her that it all the paperwork was already done when Roy and Nan came back early this afternoon. Nan was a little put out because she wanted to make sure they had plenty of time to do their shopping.
Roy managed to convince her to at least sit in it. Once she got in, she was enchanted by the the moon roof, the navigation, the trim. “I hope that when we're looking in a while, this car is still available.” That's when Roy told her she could drive it off the lot; it was hers.
“Are you kidding me?” Nan moved her side-eye from Roy to Tony. “Is he kidding me?” When Tony convinced her that Roy had done all the work needed to take it home, she got out, and she and Roy had a moment.
Thank you, Roy and Nan, for letting us share your story. May you enjoy your Outback for many years to come!
