Stanley Subaru Welcomes Spencer from Hancock County Technical Center's AYES Program

We are proud to welcome Spencer, a student at Hancock County Technical Center in Ellsworth, to the Stanley Subaru Service Department. Spencer is shadowing our shop foreman Rob Moon and performing some of our simpler service tasks under his instruction and guidance. He will be here throughout the summer and during school vacations throughout his upcoming senior year at HCTC.

Spencer joins us as part of the Automotive Youth Education System (AYES) program, which is a Subaru-sponsored training program. Students in this program have the option of going to one of three Maine Community Colleges for a two-year automotive program, during which time they spend their school breaks working here in our shop, learning from our technicians.

As Spencer progresses through school, he will be given more complicated tasks to do here at Stanley Subaru and, upon graduation, he will be working for us full time.

This AYES program is how "we can grow our own technicians from high school and provide them a highly-skilled, decent paying job right out of school," says Service Manager Neil Harriman. He notes that our technician Kaleb Danico is also a graduate of this program.

Be sure to welcome Spencer on your next visit here at Stanley Subaru-- He is the one wearing a dark blue HCTC Automotive Technology program uniform. Good luck Spencer and welcome aboard!
