Subaru sponsors Puppy Bowl instead of Super Bowl
It may come as no surprise to Subaru owners that Subaru of America, Inc. would rather sponsor the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet instead of the National Football League's Super Bowl. Instead of being lost in the crowd of car dealers, insurance companies, and junk food ads, Subaru will be among the pet food and kitty litter set. Subaru has a long tradition of supporting the ASPCA and many local animal shelters and humane societies, and has noticed happy Subaru owners usually have furry co-pilots. Besides, we all know our furry friends have good taste! It's not that Subaru doesn't support athletics or friendly competition, but Subaru tries to understand their audience, even the canine and feline ones.
With the "Dog Tested. Dog Approved" videos and print ads that debuted last year, Subaru expands their furry co-pilot presence with a series of 20 second spots focusing on the 2014 Forester and a few furry shoppers.
