Five Subaru Models Now Rated As 2014 IIHS Top Safety Picks
CHERRY HILL, N.J., Dec. 19, 2013---Subaru of America, Inc. today announced that the all-new, 2014MY Forester has been joined by the 2014MY Legacy and Outback (with Optional EyeSight) to be named as 2014 Top Safety Pick Plus by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) along with the highest possible rating of "Superior" for Front Crash Prevention. The 2014MY Impreza and XV Crosstrek are named as 2014 TSP models. The 2014 TSP+ award requires at least a "Basic" rating for Front Crash Prevention in addition to meeting the base "TSP" award criteria, which now requires at least "Good" or "Acceptable" performance in the small overlap frontal crash test.

"Our customers look to us to provide safety in our vehicles," said Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. "and so we are extremely proud to have earned such high TSP ratings."
Safety is playing its part in Subaru's continued sales success as the company looks to break through 400,000 sales in the U.S. in December, marking the sixth consecutive year of sales growth for the company.
