We mourn the loss of Geddy Himes-Richardson

The Stanley Subaru family is hurting. We lost Georgette Himes-Richardson (Geddy) to cancer. We love Geddy and miss her terribly. She was the very first employee of Stanley Subaru and was a huge part of building us into the organization we are today. She embodied all the virtues we strive for – exceptional service and attention to our guests, a force for good on our team, and a positive contributor to our community. Our deepest sympathies are with her family. We love Geddy and will continue to try to do right by her.

"I want to thank you" from Down East Hospice Volunteers

A letter from Down East Hospice Volunteers surrounded by the other notes on our thank you board

Dear Mr. Patterson King:

I want to thank you personally for the very generous donation of your time and technical talents in support of our 25th Anniversary 10k/5k benefit race. Your many hours of help with Facebook and Pay Pal and more was invaluable. We are lucky, indeed, to have businesses near and far so willing to help us in this effort. The work you did with our two 'tech experts' helped us find new ways to meet expenses and make this important fundraiser a success. It is especially meaningful because our volunteers don't cover Hancock County, although…

Stanley Subaru Helps Fill School Pantries for Hungry Students

We just completed one of our most successful food drives yet!

About 1 in 4 students in Maine is food insecure. Undernourishment deeply affects students' lives including reducing their ability to learn, which further impacts their future. Food insecurity is a terrible problem, and Stanley Subaru is making efforts to solve it. We partnered with WABI TV5 and the Maine Education Association in 2015 to End Student Hunger.

Good news pouring out of Stanley Subaru!

We are happy to say the state of Maine confirms that we have some of the best possible water you can drink! Not only was everything good and at acceptable levels, we had some of the best possible readings in almost every category! Which means not only is our water great, but whenever you have tea, coffee, or cocoa, you're getting some great quality brew!

We also have loads of great news from our service department! Chris Williams passed his final ASE in December and is officially Subaru Master Certified!

Food drive to end hunger in local schools

We love our community. We love being a part of down east Maine. We are so grateful to every one of our guests who make us feel welcome. Because we love our community, we are always looking for ways to help where there is a need. Unfortunately, in Maine and in Hancock County in particular, there is a great need for children to get enough to eat. Which is why we are continuing our partnership with the Maine Education Association and WABI TV5.

Meet the new head of our Car Rental Department, Krystal O'Hara

Krystal grew up in a small northern Maine town, graduating with a small class of only about 50 others. She relocated to Bangor and attended Beal College in the Business Management program.

Krystal is currently living on the coast with her family (animals included). She has an African grey parrot her family adopted, and because of that, although she doesn't speak French, her African grey knows some. She also has a blue and gold…

Do you want something sporty with all wheel drive?

Roy was looking for something like a Mustang when he came in and talked to Tony yesterday. He was after something sporty with good handling, and he knew a Mustang would fit the bill, but Roy also knew his wife Nan wanted all wheel drive.

Tony had him try a 2009 Outback XT Limited. Roy was hooked. With the turbocharged engine and the 105 inch wheelbase, he had a blast getting the sporty feel he…

Seven Subaru models earn IIHS Top Safety Picks

Part of what makes Stanley Subaru great is the commitment Subaru owners show us. We got a digital postcard from Subaru owners Linda and Larry. They spent three weeks cruising around Wyoming and Montana in a rental car, and nothing less than a Subaru would do. Here they are posing with their borrowed Crosstrek.

Thanks Linda and Larry! We look forward to having you back in Maine!

It's Wellness Wednesday here at Stanley Subaru. While we're working on putting together our next newsletter, we just had to share a good recipe and a great upcoming event with you.
